1413105 Hydraulic fluids IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 1 Dec 1972 [2 Sept 1971] 40967/71 Heading C5F An hydraulic fluid comprises (A) liquid chlorinated paraffin containing 30-75 wt. per cent Cl and having viscosity 10-10,000 centistokes at 50‹ C.; (B) 0À1-5% of detergent dispersant additive(s); (C) 0À5-20% of phosphate ester and either (D) 0À1-5% phosphate ester or (E) 0À1-10% pentaerythritol ester of a C 9+ fatty acid, the percentages of (B), (C) (D) and (E) being based on the wt. of component (A). (B) may be a Ca, Ba or Mg alkyl phenate, sulphurized alkyl phenate or petroleum sulphonate. Many components (C) and (D) are specified. The composition may also contain heat stabilizers, e.g. epoxidized oil, ester or resin, rust inhibitors, e.g. a C 14 -C 20 di- or tricarboxylic acid; common inhibitors, e.g. benzotriazole or N-acyl sarcosine; a silicone anti-foam agent, and up to 30% mineral oil.
