1412928 Methyl vinyl ketone F HOFFMANNLA ROCHE & CO AG 24 June 1974 [25 June 1973] 27903/74 Heading C2C Methyl vinyl ketone is prepared by heating a solution comprising 1-30 wt. per cent of 3- ketobutanol-l, 0.005-0.50 wt. per cent of a strong acid and 70-99 wt. per cent of an inert solvent, e.g. H 2 O, alkanols, ketones, cyclic ethers or chlorinated hydrocarbons or mixtures thereof. Temperatures of 120-260‹ C. are mentioned.
