Abstract
1412081 Dynamo-elcctric machines TELDIX GmbH 4 May 1973 [5 May 1972] 21384/73 Heading H2A In a combination of a stationary component 1, a rotating component 2 supported on the stationary component by one or more roller bearings and a device for providing an electrical signal indicative of the speed of the rotating component relative to the stationary component the device comprises a stator secured to the stationary component and carrying a magnetic field sensitive element 18, and an annular rotor 4 rotatably supported on the stationary race of the or one roller bearing and fixed for rotation with the rotating component 2, the rotor being so constructed that when it rotates, it varies the magnetic flux acting on the field sensitive element 18. The device is intended to serve as a wheel speed sensor for an anti-locking control system of a vehicle, the rotating component being, e.g. a wheel hub and the stationary component being, e.g. the steering knuckle of a non-driven wheel. The rotor 4 comprises an annulus 9 of plastics material carrying a toothed ferromagnetic annulus 7. The rotor is rotatably mounted on a lug 11 of the stationary race 3a of a roller bearing 3 and is driven by a pin 10 mounted on the rotating component 2. The stator may include a permanent magnet 17 and the field sensitive element may be a coil or a semi-conductor device. The stator comprises two parts articulatedly joined together, one part 14 being fixed to the stationary component and the other part being slightly tilted with respect to the first part and abutting the stationary race 3a, the latter therefore serving as a stop for the stator.
