Abstract
1411789 Two-part couplings BUNKER RAMO CORP 2 Nov 1972 [5 Nov 1971] 50598/72 Heading H2E Pads 22 on the lower surface 18 of an I.C. package 12 abut cantilever resilient contacts 65. The contacts 65 are shaped to give a wiping action on pads 22 as the package is pushed thereagainst. Mounting portions 67 have teeth 70, 71 to dig into the edges of slots 74. The contacts 65 are pre-stressed by shoulders 81 (and 82) of the body engaging upward-facing shoulders 79, 80 at their free ends. A lid 31 integrally hinged at 50 and with a resilient integral latch 58 holds the package 12 in place. An aperture 49 exposes a projection 19 housing the I.C. chip, to facilitate cooling and identification. Projections 44, 45, 91 and openings 20, 21, 16 ensure correct engagement. The connector can accommodate a bent package (85, Fig. 11, not shown).
