Abstract

1411732 Thermally insulating pipes FISKARS AB OY 2 Jan 1974 [12 Feb 1973] 00023/74 Heading F2P A thermally insulating sleeve (for insulating a pipe 6) includes an outer tubular protective coating 1, at least one longitudinal channel tube 2, and a heat insulation layer 3 filling the space between the outer coating 1 and the channel tube 2, the outer face 5 of the channel tube 2 being provided with at least two longitudinal projecting flanges 4. As described the outer coating 1 and the channel tube 2 are formed of plastics material and the insulation layer 3 consists of polyurethane foam. The channel tube 2 is provided with two diametrically opposite flanges 4 which provide support for the tube 2 should the foam layer 3 become mechanically weakened by the effect of heat in the region where the hot pipe 6 contacts the tube 2. In a modification (not shown) the sleeve is provided with two channel tubes 2 which are mutually connected by means of a common flange.
