Abstract
In the production of ammonium sulphate by passing into sulphuric acid distillation gas freed from tar &c. by cooling, together with the ammoniacal vapour arising from the distillation of the ammoniacal liquor separated in the cooling, a rectifier is arranged after the still so as to obtain the vapour at 90-100 DEG C. free from dew. The original gas is cooled to about 20-25 DEG C., and the liquor in the saturator is at about 25-40 DEG C., is of 33-34 DEG B<\>ae., and contains about 7 per cent of free sulphuric acid.
