Abstract

1410570 Containers for separately storing two products L'OREAL 21 Dec 1973 [28 Dec 1972] 59452/73 Headings B8D and B8T A device for separately storing and admixing two products comprises a container 1 for storing one product and having a threaded neck, a threaded cap S having a recess 6 for storing the other product and an annular abutment surface 10, an inverted cup 12 frictionally engaged in the neck and having a bottom provided with a central aperture 14 and a radially-projecting rim flange 15 clamped between the cap abutment surface and the neck rim, and an inverted flanged cup-shaped plug 16 extending through the central aperture and having a force-fit in the recess. On unscrewing of the cap, the plug flange 17 engages the apertured bottom of the cup so that the plug is progressively withdrawn from the recess until it drops into the container followed by the contents of the recess. The admixture formed can then be dispensed through the apertured cup bottom or through the cap after the latter has been retightened and a ball end 20 cut-off. The cap and plug may be of polyethylene. Striations, ribs or channels 18 Fig. 1 (not shown) may be provided on one of the co-operating surfaces of the cup and neck.
