1410125 Counting sheets GLORY KOGYO KK 30 Jan 1973 [31 Jan 1972] 4662/73 Heading G4D In a sheet counter of the kind in which sheets are separated from a stack by a moving suction head means is provided to move the stack from a loading position to a counting position, a switch 21 being operated by the moving stack so as to automatically start a counting operation as the stack moves into the counting position. As shown five rotating suction heads 28 are mounted on a counter-rotating turntable 30 which is provided with five cams 34 operating a microswitch MC5 to increment a counter. To insert a stack of sheets A an arm 6 is drawn back against a spring 10; an extension 24 closes a switch MC4 to energize the drive motor in the reverse direction. The turntable is thus turned back to its proper starting position, with one head opposite the stack, where it is arrested by a catch 40 dropping into a groove 39 and a switch MC3 opening to stop the motor. When the arm 6 is released spring 10 shifts the stack into counting position against the head, operating the switch 21 in passing to energize a vacuum pump. A spring 53 withdraws the catch 40. A spring 37 then feeds the stack into the counting heads. When the stack meets the first head the pressure falls operating a pressure switch to energize the drive motor, the heads rotate to count the sheets. When the stack A is exhausted the pressure rises and the motor is de-energized by the pressure switch.
