1409696 Cyclohexene derivatives L GIVAUDAN & CIE SA 14 March 1974 [15 March 1973] 11392/74 Heading C2C [Also in Division A5] The invention comprises compounds of the formula where R is a (C 1-3 alkanoyl)-oxymethyl group in the 3- or 4-position and the broken line denotes an optional carbon-carbon bond. The compounds are prepared by alkanoylating the corresponding hydroxymethyl cyclohexene. The exocyclic double bond may be hydrogenated before or after alkanoylation.
