Abstract

1409412 Reciprocating pumps MILTON ROY CO 22 May 1974 [24 May 1973] 22925/74 Heading F1A An hydraulically-actuated, tubular diaphragm pump comprises an actuating piston 10 which reciprocates a diaphragm 12 through a liquid column, diaphragm 12 acting through another liquid column on tubular diaphragm 22 through which liquid is pumped via check-valve assemblies 34, 36, tubular diaphragm 22 being of elliptical cross-section in its middle section 38, Fig. 5, and circular cross-section at each end. Diaphragm 12 is of elastomeric material, and is rigidly clamped at its periphery. A relief valve 18 and air bleed assembly 20 are provided for the actuating liquid column between piston 10 and diaphragm 12.
