Abstract

1408376 Processing photographic silver halide materials FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 4 April 1974 [6 April 1973] 15121/74 Heading G2C Photographic silver halide materials are processed by i) developing the exposed material in a developer containing a developing agent and a dialdehyde e.g. glutaraldehyde or its bisulphite adduct, and ii) fixing the material in a fixer containing a thiosulphate, a water-soluble aluminium compound e.g. the chloride or sulphate or potassium alum, and at least 0.005 mole/litre of one or more of tartaric acid, citric acid or a salt thereof, e.g. potassium sodium tartrate, antimony potassium tartrate, magnesium hydrogen tartrate, potassium boron tartrate and sodium citrate. More efficient fixing with an increased fixing rate is obtained.
