Abstract
1406460 Apparatus for crystallising by evaporation FIVES LILLE-CAIL 26 Sept 1972 [29 Sept 1971] 44490/72 Heading B1B The invention comprises an apparatus for crystallising by evaporation, particularly in the production of sugar crystals, wherein liquid, e.g. sugar juices containing seed crystals, flow from compartment 1 Fig 2, to compartment 7 in a sinuous path through apertures 24 in transverse baffles 18, the juices being heated in each compartment by heating assemblies comprising spaced plates between which, plates the juices upwardly flow and then flows downwardy in the space formed in each chamber A, B, C and D, Fig 1, between the heating assembly and the chamber. The juices flow under baffles 22 between each chamber. Additional sugar juices may be fed to each compartment to maintain the concentration of the solution at a suitable level.
