Abstract
1401765 Recording and playback A J SUCRE 5 Oct 1972 [14 Oct 1971] 47875/71 Heading G5R A sinusoidal signal, e.g. a tone for an electrophonic musical instrument, is recorded exactly without overlapping on an endless magnetic track, e.g. on a disc, a drum or a belt, by energizing a recording head for exactly the period required for the length of the track to pass the head. The speed may be adjusted so that the track contains an integral number of cycles of the signal, or this may be achieved by cutting and joining a disc to form a cone.
