Abstract

1401126 Hydraulic actuators MOSIER INDUSTRIES Inc 21 Feb 1973 [10 Aug 1972] 8509/73 Heading F1D [Also in Division F2] A piston 18, Fig.1, is damped at the ends of the stroke by resilient rings 28 which abut the ends of the cylinder 14, 16 and force trapped fluid out through orifices 52 which may be adjustable. Notches 56, Fig.5, may be provided in the bumper portion 40 of the ring. Fig.6 shows an embodiment in which the rings 128 are retained in grooves 68 in the end walls of the cylinder. As before fluid is trapped between the piston and the ring at the end of the stroke and expelled through throttles 74 when portions 72, 78 of the piston-rod engage seals 148 and the piston face abuts projecting rings 140.
