Abstract
1400664 Corrosion-resistant vessels CARLZEISS STIFTUNG [trading as JENAER GLASWERK SCHOTT & GEN] 5 Feb 1973 [10 Feb 1972] 5491/73 Heading B1X [Also in Division B5] A protective glass plate for use as an inspection or observation glass plug to close on inspection or observation aperture in the wall of a vessel adapted to contain corrosive liquid media, comprises an unprotected glass plate having a transparent film of synthetic plastics wrapping material which is resistive to corrosive media, the film having been bent over the edge surface(s) round the whole of the edge(s) of the plate. The film may be a polymeric fluorinated hydrocarbon such as tetrafluoroethylene/hexafluoropropylene copolymer. The hollow film may be of thickness 0.01 to 0.1 mm. The glass may be a silicate or borosilicate glass.
