Abstract

1400421 Mouthpieces HAUNI-WERKE KORBER & CO KG 26 June 1972 [13 Aug 1971] 38151/71 Heading A2C [Also in Division F2] A mouthpiece sleeve for attachment to a cigarette is provided with an incision or incisions defining a strip 48, which strip is forced inwardly to partially obstruct the passage in the sleeve and prevent inspiration of the glowing tip of the cigarette. In the embodiment shown, which is a double length sleeve of stiff paper, that is attached to a cigarette at either end and then severed along line 49, two incisions 40, 45 are made in each end of the sleeve to define strips 48. In an alternative embodiment (Fig. 5, not shown) only one incision (140) is made in each end of the sleeve, the strips (148) being defined by the respective ends of the sleeve and the incisions.
