Abstract
1400132 Radioactive materials GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 4 July 1973 [19 July 1972] 31832/73 Heading G6R A radio-active composition for medical use comprises an aqueous solution having dissolved therein natural xenon and radio-active xenon, for example Xe-133 or Xe-127. The solution may also contain a physiological salt, e.g. NaCl, KCl, MgCl 2 , or CaCl 2 . A process of preparing the solution is described with reference to a diagrammatic drawing of suitable apparatus. The radio-active xenon may be prepared by fission of uranium or by charged particle bombardment of iodine, followed by separating the xenon from impurities by freezing in liquid nitrogen.
