1399820 Pressure die casting machines DIMO HOLDINGS Ltd 26 Feb 1973 [3 Dec 1971] 56133/71 Heading B3F Die casting apparatus comprises a heated crucible 21 for molten metal, a gas-tight enclosure 20 for the crucible, a duct 25 dipping into the crucible and being connected, without any interposed valve, with the chamber 17 of a piston pump having an outlet communicating with a die cavity 14, and a source of gas at superatmospheric pressure in communication with the interior of the enclosure 20. In use, the molten metal is forced through the duct 25 and into the die cavity by the gas pressure acting on the surface of the metal in the crucible, and the pressure on the metal in the die cavity then increased by means of the piston 18.
