Abstract

1399328 Magnetic storage arrangements VYCHISLITELNY TSENTR SIBIRSKOGO OTDELENIA AKADEMII NAUK SSSR 20 Aug 1973 [11 Dec 1972] 39194/73 Heading H3B A matrix of apertured magnetic storage cores 3 is assembled by connecting Y drive wires 2 prethreaded through the cores and formed as looped pairs to terminals 4 on a plate 1, and associating the wires with a threading device 5 for the X drive wires 7, the looped pairs of Y drive wires being tensioned by respective weights 8 each having a recessed pulley 11 receiving a Y wire loop, and the spacing between the Y wires being determined by the weights which each consist of a plate of thickness equal to twice the spacing between a looped wire pair. By forming the Y wires into loops electric tests may be made at terminals 4 during assembly. Initially an equal number of cores are located on each portion of a Y drive wire, in preparation for feeding to the X drive wire threading position.
