Abstract

1398946 Floating factory SHORELINE PRECAST CO 10 Oct 1973 47248/73 Heading B7S A factory comprises a multiplicity of floating barges ballasted so that when they are floating in still water the decks of the barges provide a level work area. The barges are connected together in adjacent relationship by cables round bollards 12 and winches 10 which allow slight movement due to wave action or load transfer. A roof and walls enclose at least part of the work area and plates 44 link the decks of at least some of the adjacent barges to allow movement of personnel, materials and products around the work area.
