Abstract
1397828 Switching circuits INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP 6 Nov 1972 [21 Dec 1971] 51114/72 Headings H3P and H3T A circuit for passing a current of predetermined magnitude and selected polarity to an output terminal S comprises a pair of diodes D4, D5 shunted by a resistor R, and first and second means to render either the first or second diode conductive. Point S is connected to a potential VO/2, and when inputs at A1, A2 are both low, transistor T1, diodes D1, D4, D6 are off, diodes D3, D5, D8, are on and current flows from S via D5, R, D3 to current sink CS1. When A1, A2 are both high transistor T1, diodes D1, D4, D6 are on, diodes D3, D5, D8 are off and current flows to S via D6, R, D4 from current source CS2, Fig. 1b (not shown). If A1 and A2 are in opposite states both D4 and D5 are off and no current flows to S, Fig. 1c (not shown). The resistor R may be a transistor to control the current, and the diodes may be strapped transistors.
