Abstract
1397662 Diaphragms; piezoelectric transducers SIEMENS AG 5 Feb 1973 [29 Feb 1972] 5507/73 Heading H4J In an electro-acoustical transducer of the type having a membrane 4 with a piezoelectric or piezo-resistive layer, mounted in a bearing body 6, e.g. of silicone rubber, there is provided an intermediate base 3 of insulating material having on one side a lip 5 for locating the bearing body and on the other side at least one chamber 8 for accommodating the components (Fig. 2, not shown) of an amplifier. The intermediate base 3 may be provided with one or more cavities 21 covered with silk discs 23 which act as resonators and the underside of the base 3 may be provided with stiffening ribs 20. The amplifier components may be carried on a punched circuit or a printed circuit board 9 which is also connected to external contacts 13, 11 of the transducer. A metal housing part 2, an insulating housing part 1, and a protective cap 1 enclose the device, and the metal housing part 2 is electrically connected to the circuit board via a conductor 25. Several types of circuit board may be used.
