Abstract

1395865 Means for tuning musical instru ment ASTRO MUSIC CO Inc 20 March 1973 [25 April 1972] 13374/73 Heading G5J A crank-like tool 42 engages string tightening thumbscrews 30 of a guitar in an elongated cup 48 for adjustment of string tension, or the string pegs 40 may be pried loose by engaging peghead 40c in a slot 50 cut in the lip of cup 48. The tool is made of stiff but resilient plastics material which will not easily mark the wooden plate 16 when tool arm is tipped about corner 56 to extract the peg. Slot 50 may be strengthened by inward angular ribs 54 (Fig. 3, not shown).
