1395373 Setting electric timepieces COMPAGNIE DES MONTRES LONGINES FRANCILLON SA 27 July 1972 [27 Aug 1971] 35071/72 Heading G3T An electronically driven watch has an electronic means for setting the time display, comprising a switch having a normal running position, other positions for individually setting seconds, minute hour displays and another position to which means is connected for preventing the individual setting of a display upon rapid passage of a switch-arm through on other positions. The output of a frequency divider 2, fed from an oscillator 1, is connected to counters 3-6 having outputs to numerical or hand time displays. The setting of the time display is effected through a rotary switch 11 having a zero-potential arm 15 actuating a flip-flop assembly III and a delay circuit IV for preventing the operation of an hour display when setting a date display. The hour display is set on a movement to a position 13 from the normal position 11. Counter 31 is thus started and at a predetermined count an AND-gate 33 is opened so that divider 2 feeds pulses to an input B9 of a line selector 9 whereby the hour counter 5 is indexed once per second. The date display is set at a position 14 which changes the input C10 of a line selector 10 so that an input B10 is connected to an output D10 and pulses from divider 2 are fed to the date counter 6. The minute display is set at position 12 at which a flip-flop 21 is reset so as to zero the seconds counter 3 and cause divider 2 to index the minute counter 4 via a line selector 8. The return of arm 15 to position 11 sets flip-flop 21 and stops the watch. The watch is then restarted by a movement to position 12, which resets flipflop 21 and changed the state of a selector 8, and a subsequent movement back to position 11 which opens AND-gates 7 and 22. The position 12 may be replaced by two positions providing for zero-setting and minute setting.
