Abstract

1394625 Tensioning devices HERBERT SEHLBACH KG 20 June 1973 [27 June 1972] 29305/73 Heading F2G A device for tensioning and fastening two straps or bands 15, 16, e.g. to encircle a member, comprises connector and lever portions 11, 10 releasably connected by a pair of swivel joints 12 which each include male and female portions and guide passages 47 each receiving the other joint part. As shown, the straps 15, 16 are looped through apertured web portions 27, 28, 17, 18 extending between side cheek portions 14, 13 in which the swivel joints are formed by blanking the sheet metal from which the device parts are integrally made. Each swivel joint comprises a bearing ring (44) (Fig. 4, not shown) partly surrounded by a raised rim (45) on the lever 10 which engages a short bearing pin (43) on the connector 11 after being guided along the J-shaped passage 47. The straps are tensioned by swinging the lever in the direction 39 until the parts are aligned. The tension of the strap 15 at the end edge 32 of the lever passes through a dead centre position and so keeps the parts aligned and flat against an encircled member (41) (Fig. 3, not shown).
