Abstract
1394330 Powder lime of uniform-activity VYZKUMNY USTAV STAVEBNICH HMOT 20 June 1973 29189/73 Heading C1A CaO of uniform activity is prepared by burning pre-heated limestone of particle size up to 2 mm. (40% may be retained by a 2 mm. sieve) in a rotary kiln, separating into two or more fractions in a fluid classifying cell and cooling the coarse fraction in a fluidized bed cooler, air from the classifying cell being used in the cooler after mixing with cold air. The kiln may have a profiled lining and a downward inclination of 0À5-2À5%. The cooler may consist of three or more sections, the air from all but the last section being supplied to the rotary kiln and air from the last section being passed to a separator. The air carrying the fines from the classifying cell may be passed through a separator and thence to the first section of the cooler. The fine fractions of lime may be of particle size 300-600 microns.
