Abstract
1392936 Mist separator SHOKETSU KINZOKU KOGYO KK 12 April 1972 47524/71 Heading BIT Oil and/or water mist and solid particles are separated from compressed gas by passage through a housing containing in series a multi-ply annular pleated filter element 2, which includes a layer of polyvinylidine chloride fibres of 0.1 to 0.5 microns diameter and an element 3 which comprises an impervious sleeve enclosing successive layers of coalescing material of increasing porosity, the downstream layer extending out of the sleeve to increase its outflow area to reduce splashing. Coalesced liquid accumulates at 8 and is withdrawn through valve 9.
