Abstract

1392797 Microwave switches FERRANTI Ltd 1 Sept 1973 41226/73 Addition to 1,367,392 Heading H1W A microwave switch comprises a voltage sensitive reactance 20, e.g. a PIN diode forming part of a tuned circuit which is matched to an input transmission line (and may also be matched to an output transmission line) by a voltage transformer. The diode is mounted on a central post 13, which forms part of the resonant circuit, and a bias voltage is applied through conductor 22 for which a choke coupling 25 is provided. The inner conductors 14, 16 of input and output co-axial lines are connected to points on posts 11, 12 appropriate to the desired impedance transformation.
