1392760 Making filter elements B P THOMAS 22 Nov 1972 53936/72 Heading B1D A filter-coalescer element is made by wrapping at least one layer of cured resin-impregnated glass fibre material around perforate tubular former 30 and compressing it to the required density. The layer is first wetted with water and/or additional thermosetting resin which is cured after compression. In making a multi-layer element each layer is similarly wetted and compressed before applying the next, and if the layers are wet with resin this is cured after compressing the final layer. The element shown is for outward flow and has an outer layer of woven stockinette 36.
