1392632 Recording and playback EMI Ltd 19 Oct 1973 [26 Oct 1972] 49329/72 Heading G5R A stylus, for capacitative playback of topographical grooved records, comprises an electrical conductor 7 extending between and insulated from two electrically conductive screening members 3, 4. As shown, successive layers of metal 3, 4 and dielectric material 5, 6, e.g. quartz or glass, are deposited on the flat surfaces of two sapphire half-stylus parts 1, 2, a metal probe 7 is formed on one dielectric layer 5 and the two parts are joined together.
