Abstract

1391417 Pressure gauges W H BRAMALL & CO Ltd 12 Sept 1972 [9 Nov 1971] 51924/71 Heading G1L A pressure gauge 10 for fitting to a pressure vessel such as a fire extinguisher comprises a sleeve 11 connectible to the vessel, a deformable diaphragm 16 and a gauge movement housed in the sleeve, the movement, housed in body 18, having a spring-loaded finger 22 normally contacting the diaphragm but being movable limitedly away from it to check that the gauge movement is not jammed. When the mounting ring 27 of transparent window 28 is unscrewed from the sleeve, the body 18 housing the movement moves away from the diaphragm guided by a mounting screw 31 and the pointer 21, being now subject to no force from the diaphragm, should return to a zero reading thereby indicating that the gauge is functioning correctly.
