Abstract

1391405 N-acylated-glucosamines RECHERCHES PHARMACEUTIQUES ET SCIENTIFIQUES 5 June 1973 [14 June 1972] 26840/73 Heading C2C Novel compounds I in which R is 2-p-chlorophenoxy-2-methylpropionyl or 3-methyl-4-phenyl-buten-3-oyl are prepared by reacting glucosamine with an anhydride R 2 0. The anhydrides are prepared by reacting together the corresponding acid chloride and sodium salt. Compounds I are active against hypercholesterolemia and related afflictions and form with a carrier or excipient a pharmaceutical composition which may be administered orally or parenterally.
