Abstract

139,133. McRae, F. A. Feb. 7, 1919. Power, obtaining from snips' way.-The motion of a vessel through the water is utilized to provide power for ventilation and refrigeration by compressing air in a tanh. A chamber or tank 100 is fitted with a sloping bottom 101 and communicates with the water at the bows by pipes 102, 103, &c. Pipes 120 in the form of injectors are connected to cowls, as shown, so that the flow of water into the tank induces air with it. The water leaves the tank through the pipes 112 and 113 and the air is compressed in the upper portion, from which it is drawn off as required. Valves are fitted to the water inlets and outlets for regulating.
