Abstract
1390731 Frying food in oil F WENGER 10 Jan 1973 [11 Jan 1972] 1337/73 Heading A4D A food-frying apparatus comprises a pan 2 for receiving oil, an electric heating element 4 disposed within the pan, and a thermostat housed in a tube 5 which passes completely through the pan and is accessible from outside the pan only, the tube being in contact with the heating element either at a single place or over a small part of its length. The pan is mounted in a supporting frame 1 and, as shown, is oval in horizontal section, though it can be round Fig. 5 (not shown), or rectangular Fig. 6 (not shown). To ensure intimate contact between the tube 5 and the element at the appropriate place, the tube may carry one limb of a V-shaped member 16 Fig. 7, the other limb of which presses the element against the tube.
