1390578 Pipe couplings DRESSER INDUSTRIES Inc 3 July 1973 [5 July 1972] 31645/73 Heading F2G Elastomeric sealing rings 20, 21 are not only longer but also radially thicker than the spaces 18, 19 provided to receive them, so that they can provide improved radial response to relaxation of a plastic pipe and thereby maintain sealing pressure therewith. The gasket is held under compression in the cavity by thrust exerted through a metal or polypropylene washer 25.
