Abstract

1390457 Transferring mechanisms KIEINGER & OBERGFELL 16 March 1972 [16 March 1971 6 March 1972] 12413/72 Heading G4D [Also in Division G3] In a digital clock having units and tens of minutes drums 4, 5 and an hours drum 6, the drum 5 is smaller than the others and arranged eccentrically thereof so that projections 131, 110 on the drums 4, 5 can engage successive ones of abutments 130, 109 on the drums 5, 6 respectively to advance the latter drums by one unit at the appropriate times. The drum 6 is supported on a fixed spindle 7 and latched thereto by a star wheel 101 fixed to the spindle and a spring-loaded pawl 103 fixed to the drum. The other drums have similar mechanisms (not shown). The drum 6 rotates once in twentyfour hours and carries eight auxiliary drums 8-10 which are three-sided and are rotated around their own axes by engagement with a fixed cam ring 11. The spindle 19 of the drum 4 is rotated intermittently via a Geneva mechanism or a partially toothed gear to advance the minutes indication.
