Abstract

1389993 Document shredders A GOLDHAMMER [trading as FEINWERKTECHNIK SCHLEICHER & CO] 25 April 1973 [29 Sept 1972] 19534/73 Heading B2A A document shredder comprises a pair of cutter cylinders comprising a plurality of interdigitated cutting discs. Each disc includes a plurality of cut-out grooves, the discs being arranged so that the grooves form helical lines on the cylinders. The angle of the tearing edge of a groove is preferably 75‹ to 90‹. In operation a paper sheet is first cut transversely with short cross cuts having the same width as longitudinal strips into which it is cut. The strips thus fall into small pieces.
