Abstract

1389605 Contact printing RICOH KK 20 Sept 1972 [1 Oct 1971] 43552/72 Heading G2A In the production of a plurality of copies of an original by contact printing, the original being fed repeatedly to an internally illuminated transparent printing drum by means of an endless belt comprising a plurality of belt strips 8A between openings 22 in a suction tank, correct orientation of the original is restored by angular displacement of the longitudinal axis of a belt guide roll 15 so as to vary the length of one edge of the belt relative to the other. The angular displacement is effected by a bearing nut 21 carried by a screwthreaded shaft 20 of a motor 19 which is operated during the interval between the times at which the leading edge of the original contacts two sensors 16 and 16' non-simultaneously (after activation of the sensors by a switch 17).
