Abstract

1388556 Cellular concretes STAMICARBON NV 5 July 1972 [5 July 1971] 31442/71 Headings C1H and C1A In a process for bonding expanded granules of A1 silicate in a Ca-silicate hydrate matrix the granules are coated with a layer of affixed quartz particles prior to expansion by heat. The granules are formed from carrier materials and whilst moist are contacted with fine quartz at a pressure not less than the moulding pressure of the granules. The concrete mixture contains the coated granules, quartz sand, water and sufficient lime to form Ca-silicate hydrate with the quartz sand and the silica of the coating. The mixture is moulded and steam heated under pressure.
