1387913 Knitting NORTH AMERICAN ROCKWELL CORP 2 May 1972 [14 June 1971] 20427/72 Heading DIK Tights are knitted toe to toe by knitting continuously a first leg and hip portion, a waist band 27 and a second leg and hip portion, longitudinal openings 24, 29 with runstop bands 25, 26; 30, 31 at their ends being formed in the hip portions so that by drawing one leg through the opening in the opposite hip portion a pair of tights may be formed. The garment is shaped by varying the sizes of the stitches and the toes may be closed on the knitting machine. A similar garment knitted on a cylinder and dial machine has a turned welt for its waist.
