Abstract

1386398 Platform elevators D KEEBLE 13 July 1972 [31 July 1971] 36197/71 Heading B8H Load lifting apparatus comprises a base 11 mounted on wheels 12, two supports 14 having rollers 16 at each end for movement along tracks 13 at each side of the base 11, the supports 14 being pivotally connected at 23 to each end of a lazy-tongs linkage 24, the other end of which is pivotally connected to a lifting platform 26 by means of rollers 27 running along tracks 28 provided on the platform 26, such that movement of the supports 14 towards and away from each other causing the raising and lowering respectively of the platform 26. Movement of the supports is effected by means of shaft portions 18 formed with opposite hand threads and each passing through a central hub 17 in each support 14, the shaft portions 18 being driven by a combined reversible electric motor and gear-box 22 which is controllable from a control box 29 on the platform 26.
