Abstract
1386006 Hydraulic motor control circuits PATENTS & DEVELOPMENTS A S 17 Feb 1972 [5 March 1971 8 Dec 1971] 7375/72 Heading F 1P [Also in Divisions F2 and G3] In a system comprising two pumps 14, 15 supplying parallel motors 22a-22d each motor receives fluid through a respective flow regulator 21a-21d controlled by a rezoactive pilot valve 32-35 at console 25. Each flow regulator Fig. 3 includes a spool 54 biased to the open position shown by spring 64 so that fluid flows from inlet 41 to motor supply line 23i via metering ports 51 and restriction 67, the pressure drop across the restriction being applied to the spool to act in opposition to spring 64. The pilot valve provides a variable bleed from chamber 63, in which pressure downstream of the restriction acts on the spool, and thereby adjusts the flow-rate to the motor and controls the maximum pressure at the motor. Optional auxiliary spool 77 closes motor supply port 76 when pressure downstream of the the restriction falls to a predetermined value, e.g. upon closure of spool 54 following full opening of valve 32. The motors may drive pumps, winches, control and propulsion units on a tanker.
