Abstract

1385697 Coating urea granules STAMICARBON BV 26 June 1973 [27 April 1972] 19649/72 Addition to 1,288,333 Heading B2E [Also in Division C1] Absorption of moisture by urea granules is reduced by treating the granules with a coating agent comprising a mineral oil, from 5 to 20% by weight of a mixture of solid natural paraffin and synthetic paraffin having a molecular weight of from 500 to 5000 and a melting point between 85 and 115‹C, the paraffins being present in the ratio of from 4:1 to 1:4 by weight, and 1 to 15% of animal or vegetable fat or an animal or vegetable oil, the temperature of the granules during the treatment being between 45 and 85‹C. The quantity of natural and synthetic paraffin employed is such that the solidification point of the coating agent is preferably not more than 15‹ C below the temperature at which the coated particles will be stored.
