Abstract
1385605 Polymeric compositions BAYER AG 31 May 1973 [3 June 1972] 26007/73 Heading C3R Polymeric compositions containing inorganic and organic segments are homogeneous colloidal xerosols of a high molecular weight silicate and an organic polyadduct, polycondensate and/or polymer containing ionic groups. An aqueous silicate solution, e.g. alkali metal silicate, may be reacted with an organic prepolymer containing reactive groups, especially NCO groups, and at least one ionic group. An inert volatile liquid may also be included in the reaction mixture so as to obtain a foamed product. Typical starting materials are polyurethane prepolymers containing sulphonic acid groups. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,186,771.
