Abstract
1385340 Laminates TAKEDA YAKUHIN KOGYO KK 24 March 1972 [14 April 1971] 33885/74 Divided out of 1385339 Heading B5N [Also in Division C3] Sheets of polyesters or polyolefins may be adhered to each other or to other substrates using an adhesive composition which comprises (A) 100 parts by weight of a linear high molecular weight polyurethane which has been prepared by reacting a diol of M.W. 500 to 3000 with #,#<SP>1</SP>-diisocyanato dimethylcyclohexane at an NCO/OH ratio of from 0À90 to 1À10 and (B) 1 to 10 parts by weight of #,#<SP>1</SP>-diisocyanato dimethylcyclohexane or an NCO-terminated prepolymer thereof derived from a diol or polyol of M.W. not greater than 400 at an NCO/OH ratio of at least 1À5. The polyurethane (A) may be derived from a polyether or polyester diol. A low molecular weight diol may also be used in its preparation. The polyurethane (A) and the prepolymer (B) may be prepared in the presence of an organic solvent and the adhesive composition may be used as a solution in an organic solvent. In an example two polyethylene terephthalate films are adhered to each other and two biaxially stretched polypropylene films are adhered to each other with the polyurethane adhesives of the invention.
