Abstract
1383990 Ventilators NU AIRE (CONTRACTS) Ltd 21 March 1973 [21 Sept 1972] 43684/72 Heading F4V [Also in Division H2] An electric motor 1 is covered by a cowl 2 to whose interior there is a cool air inlet, and there is provided a pipe through which hot air is drawn from and discharged outside the cowl. The invention is applicable to roof-mounted ventilation units, and in the embodiment shown the inlet is a gap 9 at the cowl base; whilst in a sealed embodiment Fig. 5, it comprises pipes (14). Again, as shown, the pipe comprises a hollow shaft 6 by which the motor drives, via a pulley 4 and belt 5, an impeller 7 which draws and discharges the hot air; whilst in Fig. 3, this impeller is replaced by a centrifugal fan (8), and in Figs. 4a, 4b, such fan (8) is mounted directly on the motor shaft and a separate pipe 10 leads to near, or to the eye (12) of, the fan.
