1383776 Mixing fluids W G MEDSKER 16 May 1972 22975/72 Heading B1C Means for mixing gases or liquids in a conduit 11 comprises at least one elongated member 13 therein having a curved leading edge 16 and one side 18 larger than the other whereby a vortex 15 is created, and at least one pipe 20 for additive fluid(s) downstream of the leading edge of the member 13 and in which may be additional member(s) 13. The conduit 11 may be rectangular or circular in cross-section; there may be a venturi 25. The member(s) 13 may. be attached to the inner wall of the conduit, or to an axial dividing wall (51, Figs. 5 and 6, not shown) or arranged round an axial member (61, Figs. 7 and 8 not shown).
