Abstract

1383342 Grinding TRI-ORDINATE CORP 23 March 1972 [26 May 1971 20 July 1971] 8972/74 Divided out of 1383341 Heading B3D [Also in Division F2] The subject matter of this Specification is included in that described in Specification 1,383,341 but the claims are concerned with the cam member for use in the cam-cam follower system. The member is moved through a path lying in a first plane and comprises a first curved surface facing either inwardly or outwardly of a curve and adapted to be engaged by a cam follower at a point lying in a second plane extending normal to the first surface at the point, a second curved surface facing in a direction opposite to the first surface and including first and second tracking sections disposed at different locations for engagement separated by two guide follower members disposed one on each side of the second plane, the two tracking sections being contoured relative to the first surface for progressively directing the first surface through the point as the cam member is moved between the cam follower and guide follower members and for maintaining the first surface normal to the second plane as it passes through the point.
