1383177 Slag former for steel production AIKOH CO Ltd 4 July 1972 [10 July 1971] 31185/72 Heading C7M A slag forming composition for a steel making process comprises in wt per cent 54-90 Al ash containing >30 Al 2 O 3 , 5-20 hydraulic cement, 2-10 Ca compound e.g. CaCO 3 or Ca(OH) 2 , 1-15 chloride e.g. NaCl or MgCl 2 and 1-7 water. The cement is preferably Portland or Al 2 O 3 cement but iron Portland cement or Portland blast furnace cement can also be used.
