Abstract

1382141 Developing apparatus RANK XEROX Ltd 3 March 1972 10043/72 Heading G2H The image on the photo-conductive surface of a rotary drum 4 is developed in a mixture of toner 5 and carrier 8. The carrier is directed on to the lower surface of an inclined guide plate 3 by an impeller 1 and picks up toner as it passes aperture 6. The lower surface of plate 3 is provided with a series of intersecting channels Fig. 2 (not shown), which direct the developer mix towards the ends of drum 4. The developer may comprise liquid carrier and toner, particulate toner and carrier or liquid carrier and particulate toner.
